2024 Porsche 911 GT3 Turbo S 0-60, Engine, Specs – When your whole brand is built on a single core model and its capabilities, perfection is a fleeting ideal, and adjustments must always be made to maintain the brand’s loyalty. BMW’s ideal benchmark vehicle is the BMW M3.
2024 Porsche 911 is the standard. With 640 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque from its 3.8-liter twin-turbo boxer-six engine, the Porsche 911 Turbo S is unquestionably more powerful, yet the 572-hp Turbo is far from a sluggard.
2024 Porsche 911 GT3 Redesign
Last year’s major news was the introduction of a new generation for the 2024 Porsche 911 model year; this year’s news comes from elsewhere in the 911 lineup, with the reintroduction of the GT3 and the introduction of the new Carrera GTS, both of which we will assess separately.
For the 911 Turbo and Turbo S, little has changed save that the revised Porsche Communication Management infotainment system, which previously supported only wireless Apple CarPlay, now also supports Android Auto, but it requires a connection. Additionally, a remote parking assistance tool is now accessible as an option.
Interior
The 2024 Porsche 911 interior is typically superbly constructed, with a magnificent but practical design with four seats. As is customary, the back seats are large enough to accommodate youngsters, but they also serve as additional storage. Ahead of the steering wheel is a central tachometer flanked on either side by two adjustable seven-inch TFT screens. At the same time, the dash has an analog chronograph/digital stopwatch when the Sport Chrono package is used.
A magnificent 10.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system is located underneath it. The front seats are heated as standard, and the Turbo S has adaptive front seats with enhanced adjustability; these seats provide exceptional support and comfort in equal measure. Everything is in its proper location, and a variety of buttons and switches contribute to a greater sense of connection with the automobile. This is fantastic, especially as newer vehicles abandon analog touchpoints in favor of touch-responsive displays and panels.
Engine
Porsche’s well-known recipe of a rear-engine layout with a boxer engine remains the norm. A 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged boxer-six engine hangs out over the back axle, with an innovative new eight-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission handling shifts. This generates 572 horsepower and a nearly identical 553 lb-ft of torque in the basic 911 Turbo, but adding an S to the badge improves output to a monstrous 640 hp and 590 lb-ft of twist. Turbocharging is an art form, and Porsche has developed into a Michelangelo of sorts.
Due to the elimination of the 991 generation’s overboost mechanism, overtaking is now simpler than ever, and you may use all of the available power at all times. Whether from the line or the highway, power is always available and manageable. This machine pulls strongly across the rev range without seeming boosted, but you can now hear the wastegates rattling as you lift off the throttle.
2024 Porsche 911 GT3 Release Date and Price
The basic model 2024 Porsche 911 Turbo starts at $174,300, a substantial savings of $32,700 over the Turbo S, which starts at $207,000 before a $1,350 delivery, processing, and handling cost. Prices for the Porsche 911 Turbo S could easily exceed $270,000 if fully loaded.
