For those who place a premium on performance, the Macan is the undisputed leader in its class. It’s challenging to stay focused on one thing when there are so many other possibilities, and it soon becomes more expensive due to the abundance of options.
2024 Porsche Macan Redesign
For 2024, the 2024 Porsche Macan receives a minor facelift that combines new stylistic cues, internal technological upgrades, and a tiny power bump for most models. Additionally, the SUV’s trim levels have been reshuffled, with the Macan Turbo being phased out in favor of the Macan GTS. The exterior styling has been somewhat altered, with a wider rear diffuser, 3D texturing on important side trim pieces, and seven new wheel options, including a standard 19-inch wheel.
The basic Macan is driven by a 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine with a little horsepower rise to 261 hp for 2024, while the Macan S is propelled by a 375-hp 2.9-liter twin-turbo V-6 adapted from last year’s GTS variant. To avoid feeling left out, the GTS uses the engine from last year’s Macan Turbo, a more powerful version of the V-6 rated at 434 horsepower. The single gearbox choice is a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, and all-wheel drive is standard. As was the case with the previous model year, the Macan’s balance and handling are true pleasures.
Interior
While the 2024 Porsche Macan front seats are roomy, the back seat leaves much to be desired. Adults may be unable to sit comfortably on lengthy excursions due to a lack of leg and head room. Installing a large car seat will also be challenging.
There is 17.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row, which expands to 53.0 cubic feet with the seats folded down. These numbers fall short of those of competitors. The solitary transmission option is an excellent seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Although the shift logic and the speed with which it changes gears are superb, if you maintain the Macan in Sport mode while driving in the city, it may seem a touch jerky.
